There's some that never were one
and some that's still a kid;
and some that just remember
the happy things they did.
There's some of us remember
and never will forget
and if we hadn't lost our way
we'd be at Minsky's yet.

Way back in Depression times
when not much jingle jangled,
if y' hankered for a movie show
most times y ' dingle- dangled.
But not on Saturday...no sir!
That's when we most times went.....
t' Minsky's mornin' cowboy show
that didn't cost a cent.

The cowboy show at Minsky's,
it didn't cost y' much-
a label from a coffee can
or  cereal box or such.
Between the neighbors and yer kin
y'd scrounge one up somewhere,
and one way or another,
y'd most times end up there.

The Cowboy show at Minskys...
Oh how we did enjoy
those rootin', tootin', shootin' hours
with Trigger, Dale 'n Roy!

Sometimes we'd search the cushions
of our Pa's big fat ole' chair,
a hopin' that some jingle
might a maybe dropped down there.
With luck we'd find a nickel.
That for sure was lots a' dough...
It would buy a bag a' candy
that'd last the whole blamed show.

Saturday at Minsky's
when the mornin' show was free-
those hours with Trigger, Dale and Roy
transformed my pals 'n me.
The girls were all Dale Evans
while every single boy,
in the hours spent at Minsky's,
was Trigger-ridin' Roy.

We'd head on out with all our pals,
a "happy-trailin'" down
t' Minsky's mornin' cowboy show...
the wildest range in town.
Saturday at Minsky's!
The whole darned school was there,
a'ridin' through the sage brush
on the saddle of their chair.

Saturday at Minsky's.
Oh how we did enjoy
those rootin', tootin' shootin' hours
with Trigger, Dale 'n Roy.

And Minsky'd never scold us
when we'd stand and jump fer joy
when Dale, who had been captured,
was freed at last by Roy.
Minsky, very likely,
was there a cheerin' too...
his throat as hoarse as some a' ours
when the show was through.

There's some that never were one,
and some that's still a kid-
and some that just remember
the happy things they did.
There' some a' us remember
and never will forget-
and if we hadn't lost our way,
we'd be at Minsky's yet.
