CHARLIE RUSSELL POETRY CONTEST

Charlie Russell's Stagecoach  is dedicated to the memory of Charles M. Russell and his art.  It's difficult to look at  one of his masterpieces without reading  a story; and if you can read the story, there's probably a captive poem in your mind somewhere, just waiting to be liberated by your pen. If  this describes the way you feel when you see a painting by Russell, then here is a poetry contest expressly for you..............

To further the memory of Charles M. Russell, Charlie Russell's Stagecoach is now conducting a cowboy poetry contest limited to poems about Charlie Russell or  his art, or that interprets a Russell painting.  In other words, any poetry that has a relevant relationship to Charles M. Russell.

Ten winning poems (including one blue ribbon entree) will be selected and announced on December 12, 2005.  The winning  entries will all be featured at this time.  Each poem will be presented along with the art of Charlie Russell, appropriate audio, and biographical sketch and picture of the winning cowboy poet. These ten  poems will  remain permanently and proudly featured on this web  site with full credit and plaudits given to the poet.    All entries  will be received by email:
